I know your pain. My competitive skills left me years ago, along with my youth. But fortunately Halo is fairly forgiving, I can still have a blast in BTB and be a little rubbish... I do the odd clever thing still :)

It's a poll for a mainstream audience so I think it is fair it won. I have fonder memories of older titles myself (I lost 4 years of my life to Ultima Online addiction)... but realistically who voting has likely even played some of the older games.

I say well done to the GoW team, it's a fantastic game, well deserved... and I can't wait to play the sequel.

Personally I am looking forward to Hell Let Loose. I don't think I would have dived in with a purchase for that one, but I am dead curious to play it... I am hoping it is just the kind of MP I have been hoping for since R6S went doolally.

I remember falling for that back on Dreamcast and having to start over.

I loved Aaero. I bought it on PS4 a few years ago and got hooked (some great tunes in there). I will happily double dip and try and grab a few achievements blitzing through the earlier difficulties again.

38, looking forward to trying it out again (but have my concerns over dev)

I preferred Streets of Rage 2 myself. But I was only 9 when that came out... and everything I did when I was 9 was awesome.

I don't think it is limited to just people that only play COD and Madden in this instance. I like to think of myself as pretty eclectic with my gaming tastes, and very much a try anything single player kind of person... but this one just didn't do it for me. I honestly wanted to like it, but I don't really "get it" if I am going to be honest. I didn't find it fun, and it was a little drawn out to keep me narratively engaged. I do however appreciate that it exists, ...

Was this called Lylat Wars in the UK? If so, I loved that game.

That's how I also felt. Playstation seemed to be making primarily open world single player games for a while. And I was burning out from it (as good as they were). But recently I would say they have had some more diversity with games like Returnal and Dreams.

I do wish they would make a few more racers than just GT though, I used to play so many back on the older systems (Wipeout, RidgeRacer, Twisted Metal, Mod Racers)... but everything went in favour of the more ser...

Don't hold your hopes up, we're not getting loads of expected features on launch right now.

It's yet another anti-consumer move. No ifs or buts... There is not one positive from this news unless you are directly making money from it yourself.

I have played only a couple of hours, but I have enjoyed the experience so far. In all honesty though, I have Alien bias.

I pay for Gamespass but still buy games Snakeeater25. I just picked up Alien Extinction, the last one I bought was Resident Evil Village.

Gamepass gets plenty of play though, either trying things I would otherwise overlook, or saving me a few quid on something like Psychonauts/Hades. As good as it is, if I was to just stick to gamepass I would be missing out on a lot of great games, so it is a supplement not a replacement for me.

The pandemic makes things more challenging sure. But I think it's more than that... this studio just isn't up to it. It's not like the last two attempts they made weren't lacklustre.

Well this comment created one of the weirder angry back and forth messages I have seen on N4G for a while.

But to the point, as the other guy mentioned, turning them off just removes the ability to pull off the move for yourself, it doesn't stop them being triggered on you.

On one hand it's a bit of a shame they won't be there on launch. On the other, I am just the kind of sucker that gets killed by them all the time (because I am old and rub...

Agreed, I love the sequel IP's as much as others, but I am hungry for things I haven't seen. I know we've had Returnal, but if anything that just proves the need for more.

What I want are games that aren't just open world action RPG's. They have proven they can deliver on them, but I am missing the variety of old. I want things to fill the boots of Wipeout, Ridge Racer Twisted Metal as well as some other new thinking.

It's all about the badass ladies. I am still waiting for one to hit gaming that has the impact of Ellen Ripley. I agree with other comments though, I'd rather a new IP. We just had returnal and from what I have seen, she is kicking arse (in the right players hands).

"I guess you’d class classics like broken sword and monkey island as ‘walking simulators with no combat’ then."

No those were good puzzle games with a clever narrative and had somewhat a challenge. The medium lacks both those aspect.

I prefer them to open world. I like to memorise and perfect corners, beating my PBs.
